Arielle’s vision for the brand was always to make sure it was herbal, inclusive, and repairing. She still adheres to these principles today. Her painful experience with scalp issues made it her mission to help people who are suffering from similar issues. Much thought went into creating Bea’s Bayou products.

When she first started out Arielle dived into the research about herbs and probiotics that can calm and nourish irritated skin. Good Biome Scalp Solution was born as the result of endless research and trials. The product’s value quickly became apparent when the customer reviews were overwhelmingly positive. Arielle shared that her idea was always to create a product that would help people with inflammation-prone skin with natural, inclusive, and innovative products.

Alodia Hair Care founder, Dr. Isfahan Chambers Harris, was the first-ever recipient of the Aveeno Skin Health Startup Accelerator. Dr. Isfahan received the tools and funding necessary to grow her business, including a $100,000 grant, ongoing mentorship, and a feature in ShopEssence – ESSENCE’s e-commerce portal.

The name Alodia comes from an ancient kingdom of Christian Nubia. This name resonated with her because on a personal note, her faith has played a huge part in bringing Alodia Hair Care to life. Alodia is also fitting, because Dr. Chambers-Harris aims to bring attention and awareness to the fact that the continent of Africa is the hub of beauty.  Most of the oils and scents in her products come from countries in Africa and the royal-ness of Alodia’s location fits her product line perfectly.

For years, Dr. Chambers Harris, the founder of Alodia, battled hair breakage and scalp damage from chemical straighteners. Desperate for a solution, she utilized her science expertise to develop the Nourish and Grow Healthy Hair and Scalp Oil, her first product. Inspired by her hair transformation and her desire to help other women with their hair, she created Alodia Hair Care.
